Does more than they claim! Jul 06, 2004 This little wonder has been the envy of my neighborhood when it comes to landscaping tools. They claim it is good for mixing peat moss with soil but they fail to mention how it works with sod. I have found that this tool, with a minor amount of muscle, can transform a patch of lawn into a flower bed in no time! Pushing the cutter just under the soil surface will leave a nice strip of sod that can easily be rolled up transplanted or mulched. The tool also works great for preparing the garden for planting by tilling the soil without "moving" it down the garden.

Holy Macaroni! Where have you been all this time!! Jun 29, 2009

Purchased the Soild Crumbler along with the handle. I must say, does as described. Can make neat little strips of soil and the low-exertion that is needed to operate is great (great for those folks with limited abilities). I have some rocky soil and it "fluffs" of the soil, rocks included. Acts like a mini-aerator to those compacted areas that need "fluffing". My 78-year-old Dad had a great time using the tool and had a nice section of my yard done quickly (need to keep them working in their golden years). Well constructed, great price, and the fact that the handle can utilized interchangable tools is cost effective. I've ordered other items to have fun with.

Must Have Tool! Apr 16, 2009
By C. Alford Wolf Garten products are superior!!! German Engineering at it's finest in simplicity. I'm 32 years old. Growing up in East Texas, my parents had a huge 1/2 acre vegetable garden. My grandfather bought the then "Scotts" branded name of the Wolf Garten Soil crumbler and miscellaneous other attachments for my parents back in the mid 80's. My brothers and I abused that soil crumpler and it never broke!!!! My parents still have that same "Scotts" soil crumbler!!! I just purchased a new one along with other attachments for myself and must say it's still a superior product!!!

Awesome Mar 22, 2011
By Jim This tool is great! Very heavy duty quite unlike the competition. Made in Germany too and NOT China, that speaks volumes about the quality.
Update 3/28/2012
I have been using this tool for about a year, and so have my neighbors, and it is as solid as it was out of the box. It is hard to say enough about how great this tool has been for me for my garden and landscaping projects. This tool obliterates weeds, makes mulching a snap, and my garden has never been healthier--yes, because of using this tool. Who knew soil aeration made that much of a difference? Well, I didn't.
The first go with this tool around my house and garden was tougher than the subsequent mulchings but was in no way difficult the first pass, each subsequent go over with this around your plants and trees is easier as the ground has been broken and loosened up already by prior passes. Basically, the first pass just takes a little more time and each subsequent pass goes by even more quickly, much quicker.
Now that it is springtime and time to get serious again about gardening I am going to be looking into what other products this company sells to help me in my efforts. they will get my business before I try anyone else.
