5Great product for the money  Jun 03, 2008 By Wooden
We purchased this at a local Home Depot for $25. We cut the length of the shade 1/2" longer than the marking on the shade. This allowed us to fit the space of the arched window more precisely. We did not use the adhesive (not yet) as I have concerns about putting the adhesive on my oak trim. While making adjustments to the shade, the paper wrinkles, however, the wrinkles easily crease out with your fingers. I love this shade!! It fits nicely in the window and the acrylic center holder allows you to make adjustments in different spots to make the space between the shade and the wood more even. We cut the shade against a speed square with a sharp kitchen knife. I hope to put a sheer decorative fabric on this some day to give it a bit of color, but until then I am VERY HAPPY with this window shade.

3Fit for the money?  Feb 22, 2008 By danielh6
Great idea, Great setup with the holder and adhesive on the shade. My only dislike is the measuring system on the blind. First I measured the window and cut the blind exactly to my measurement -1/8 inch for clearance. Once installed I had 3/4" clearance at the top and 1-1/2" clearance at the sides letting in light. The moral is, MEASURE THE WINDOW AND THE BLINDS WITH YOUR TAPE TO GET THE FIT YOU DESIRE. THE MEASUREMENT ON THE SHADE IS NOT EXACT, or mine was not. But it looks great and really helps with the Temperature control.

I felt uneasy after we got our half round Glass window over the front door entry system... I wanted to have privacy at night, but enjoy the beautiful crystal glass by day...
This fan shade fit my wish list.. affordable.. easy to fit ..looks great
Down side.. its paper..
Still Recommended!

5FANTASTIC, AFFORDABLE product!  Mar 17, 2009 By A. Rice
I have a huge arch window (36" high, by 72" long) and wanted to cut down on the direct afternoon sunlight that beamed through the window. I was going to make my own shade to cut down on cost, but found this product. This shade works perfectly. It was easy to cut to size (you will need a sharp utility knife) and literally took 5 minutes to install. It is thin but durable paper, but when you have it up on the window sill it looks like an expensive custom made shade! The shade is attractive and stays put with great sticky tabs. It works perfectly at cutting out the harsh, hot light but lets ambient light in. I would highly recommend this as an easy, affordable, and attractive shade.

5Blocks Sunlight As Advertised  Aug 03, 2010 By LKP
It's been up for a month now, and we're very pleased with this shade! The direct sunlight streaming through the window turns into pleasantly diffused light. It's made of sturdy paper, but very nice-looking, and looking up at it, texture's almost like the honeycomb shades.

As other reviewers noted, cut after measuring the window and the shade, don't use the built-in measurement tape. Place in clear holder, peel, stick, and voila. Stays firmly put, no issues with falling off or buckling, and ours is a large window (I only cut off one inch). Great temporary shade that looks custom-made.
