I had to replace my old Nutone vent fan. First I tried a Nutone 668RP which was supposed to fit right into the opening and save me some work. It didn't, I had to make the opening larger. Then the junction box was on the opposite side of the old fan so I had to put in another electrical box to extend the wires. Finally got it installed but when it was running it sounded like a helicopter taking off. The specs say 4 sones but it was more like 24 sones, and it didn't take out the moisture. I then ordered the Panasonic FV-08VSL1. After re-sizing the opening one more time, installation was fairly simple. At first the lights wouldn't work but I discovered I had missed one white wire hiding behind the others---there are a lot of wires!
You can barely hear this fan when it is running (1.3 sones) and it does an outstanding job of venting the humidity from the bathroom. This is the first time in 14 years we don't have fog on the bathroom mirror after a shower, and more importantly, there is no humidity left in the room so we don't have to leave the fan running for an extra 10 minutes to get rid of the rest of the humidity like we did with the Nutone. Also, the fan is ruggedly built with a heavy duty enclosure and blower. It looks like it will last forever. I highly recommend this unit!

Our electrician recommended a Panasonic exhaust fan/light for our small bathroom shower. He told us it is the only brand he now uses because of the quality, construction, low sones and basic functionality.
We have had it in place for a few weeks and absolutely love it. It is low profile which is perfect for a small space and a tall husband. The light is excellent and the fan is quiet, but loud enough that you know it is running.
We are extrememly pleased and would highly recommend this particular fan to anyone.

This particular type of fan was recommended to us during an energy audit of our house. The results of the audit showed
that our house was well sealed, more than the average "bear". The only thing the auditor suggested was to get this type
of ceiling fan in the bathroom to remove excess moisture from that room and the rest of the house. He said it would also be good for pulling dead air from the house which would remove dust, smells and other obnoxious things. So we
bought it and had it installed, and it works, The fan is more powerful than typical exhaust fans and that is good!
We are very happy with this.

This fan is amazingly quiet- honestly it was a GREAT buy. The price was less than anywhere else I had seen. The light is strong enough to brighten up the entire bathroom- The fan came quickly after I ordered it and was simple to put in. I am so glad I bought it and now I want to buy more so that I can change all the other fans in the house to this one!
