Special purpose deflectors Dec 08, 2007 By Dave
We bought these deflectors to stop air from blowing up into or onto our draperies without changing the general direction of air flow up into the room. They worked great for this purpose. The deflectors adjust easily to varying sizes of vents. I would have rated them with 5 stars had the deflectors been made of a higher quality plastic. The plastic used, while being clear and therefore not noticable, can be kicked or stepped upon easily by accident, causing the thin brittle plastic to break. A heavier and more flexible type of clear plastic would be better for this type of deflector used on floor vents.

Just what I needed to get the air circulating from behind the couch. When builders put vents in dumb places they should include these in the price of the home!

This is excellent to keep the heat going into the room and not up behind your draperies. Sturdy magnets.

I purchased a few of these to use around the house. In some rooms, the vent was too close to large curtains/draperies and this vent helps to deflect the air a little farther out from the window. I also used them behind a large chair in a corner where the air wasn't being dispursed between the chair and wall. Then a third one was used behind an entertainment center (not only was the air being blocked partially by the entertainment center, but cables and large items were getting in the way as well. This particular model (model 40) will not really fit all circumstances, but the back of the plastic is slanted. So in my case, it was able to fit just enough under the back of the entertainment center to help deflect the air up and around the furniture. Keep in mind that it's about 4-5 inches tall though. Overall, it does it exactly what I needed in multiple situtations.
