Severe Vibration - Fan out of Balance Jun 20, 2011
By tony Bought the Ventamatic IF24 - 24" Heavy Duty Exhaust Fan at Tractor Supply. The fan looked interesting: 4100 CFM, energy efficient, and fully balanced.
First impressions, the fan was in the box and the bottom of the mounting frame was bent. Just minor sheet metal straightening, no major damage.
I installed the fan and turned it on. To my surprise, as the fan came up the full speed it started shaking so violently the internal braces started to bend. Removed the fan and will be taking the fan back to the store tomorrow to exchange. Hope the next one will be better.
