5great  Apr 09, 2010 By Sir Coogs A Lot
Works great. If you're an electrician or in the lighting business, this is a must have as the electrical code mandates how much illumination certain areas of a building must have.

If you're a photographer, this is NOT what you're looking for. This light meter gives you the amount of light in LUX and candle powers...no information at all about the f/stop or ISO or anything like that ;)

4Good for general purpose, but not for science.  Feb 19, 2010 By Pvc Distributors "Flexpvc"
This is a fine light meter for general all around use, but it's sensitivity graph shows it to be highly non-linear over the spectrum. Basically it measures light that humans are most sensitive to. For that it's great. But if you are trying to measure light at different wavelengths, like for example grow lights, aquarium/reef lighting or any other specialized lighting this meter is not going to do the job unless you know the wavelength you are measuring and feel you can trust the little graph (1" square) in the "manual" to make corrections to the results. I'm not knocking the product, it's just not useful for anything other then general purposes.

3Very Basic, but works.  Jan 02, 2010 By S. Howe
This is a no frills unit, but functions just fine. The unit does have the following features. You can switch between Lux and FC, and it has a peak funtion where you could capture the highest reading measured. It also comes in a rather cheap storage case. It does have a "hold" function which will store one reading at a time.
I have used another meter that had a memory function to store multiple readings(100's of readings), which was very handy when you were in such low light that you could not read the meter. This unit stores one reading with the hold function.
On the posative side it is an inexpensive meter that perform basic measurements with ease.If your into bells and whistles there are few here.

5good quality product  Nov 05, 2007 By ken "average guy with opinion"
This is my 4th light meter over the years. I use it for architectural review of existing buildings. It has preformed well and appears well constructed and durable. It comes with a good case to keep it in or carry it. If you need an item of this nature I would not hesitate in buying this one.

5Meter for measuring video projector light output  Apr 12, 2011 By R. D. Jones
I purchased this low cost lux meter to evaluate its performance for measuring the peak light output from video projectors. Such projectors are normally rated in lumens and a lux meter is used to make the measurement from which the projector's lumens output can be easily calculated. I compared the measurement results from the LX1330B against results from a substantially more expensive meter and found both produced similar results for the measurement of the projector's light output while projecting a reference white image. While more expensive lux meters may be more capable for measuring very low lux levels as associated with a projector's reference black level, this low cost meter is adequate for measurement of the projector's peak (i.e., reference white level) lumens output. I gave it 5 stars for what is does for a very reasonable price.
