4Decent space heater  Apr 02, 2007 By R. J. Scanlan III
This heater does a nice job heating a small area. It's pretty quiet and the fan forced output is about what you'd expect from a fan set on "slow". Doesn't get hot to the touch. A little top heavy, falls over with very little help, but shuts itself off. Heat proximity breaker takes 30 minutes to reset, that's too long.

The automatic switching between 1000W and 1500W works, but it really needs an obvious manual LO/HI switch (it says three speeds in the writeup, I found two?). The switch to disable eco-save mode leaves it set at 1500W, which is too high on a shared bathroom circuit. Trips our house GFI breaker at least once every couple weeks, seems to be something to do with the tip-over shutoff.

4I LOVE IT!!!! some problems with life span...  Sep 06, 2007 By Sasha VonStone "reqmoreinfo"
They keep breakin' & I keep buyin' 'em. ;) I love this little guy. It cranks. I want one for every room b/c my dogs worship them and live in front of them. You can push a button for Energy Saver on or off. It is cooler with it on, but that is nice for when it's not as cold out. I bought my first one at Bed Bath & Beyond & it is still crankin'. My second order from Amazon, via home (?) came with one broken. The other broke soon after. They replaced the one that arrived broken in a timely manner. So, now I have 2 that work, and need to replace the third. The good news is they cost less than the Vornado's, which ALWAYS break eventually, anyway. And, if they fall over, or get knocked over by a dog, they turn themselves off. I know I'm not supposed to leave them on when I leave the house, but I do sometimes. It keeps the dogs happy & content & QUIET. No problems there so far.The heater is also quiet, by the way. So, this is the heater for me. Much cheaper than running heat for the whole house, I think.

1Alright ~ Gonna buy another one  Apr 16, 2009 By Scrappin' in the USA
I bought this loud thing at Target before I saw it on line here at Amazon. I thought it worked great; especially since it fell over often, dimmed the lights every time it came on, and tripped the breaker several times. I really like the warmth and the safety tip over auto shutoff feature ~ Safety First! It lasted a couple of years before frying two separate outlets (wall, UPS battery back up system) and later a third (power strip w/ surge protection) with a horrid electrical smell and the cord could have caught fire had I not been monitoring it.

NEVER LEAVE ANY SPACER HEATER PLUGGED IN OR UNATTENDED;
I never did and I never will ~ I don't care who makes it!

5 stars for heat
5 stars for energy saver
5 stars for shutting off when falls over
-4 stars for tripping the breaker
-5 stars for almost catching fire
-2 stars for property damage
-1 stars for dimming the lights
-2 stars for only lasting 2 years (I still miss it, I'm cold)

5Excellent for a cold office or cubicle...  May 07, 2007 By Butterflies and Light
This fan warms perfectly and quietly. If you close the door of your office, it gets down right cozy. And no worries about leaving it on when you go home because of the timer. ... The heat is gentle so you don't feel like you've been at a blow dryer. I would even use this in a child's room at home because it is so safe. I recommend it 100%.

5Safe and Effective  Oct 28, 2008 By J. Rosenbrook
We were looking for a safe, energy efficient heater, to run in our bedrooms (2) at night eliminating the use of our furnace. This has been the perfect choice. We have a 1 year old and this heater is NOT hot to the touch when running, tip over protection, shuts off after running 4 hours continuously. I love the 4 hour shutoff. If you keep the bedroom door closed, the heat generated in those 4 hours is enough to keep you warm until morning- big savings on heat/electricity.
IF your looking for continuous very hot heat, this is not the unit for you. Blows continuous warm air....and it does the trick!
