VERY impressive Nov 10, 2010

"Durango"
I recently bought the model BCM658-U and I didn't expect it to be able to humidify my 18'X 20'room because of its 1.3 gallon holding tank. But to my surprise,it easily brought the humidity level from 28% to my setting of 50% in just a couple of hours, and it maintained that humidity through the night and well into the afternoon before I needed to refill the tank. I was really surprised at how it does a great job and it's small and easy to set up in a corner somewhere. I didn't like the awkward way that you have to hold the tank to refill it, but that's a minor complaint

Works Perfect Dec 20, 2011
By Mike My wife and I have owned this humidifier for a while. Not sure about some of the other negative reviews (complaints about dropping and it breaks, duh... and no ability to see what the levels are at, there is a dial on the top for that and a clear water tank). This humidifier works exactly as you would expect and then some. I am able to set the auto cutoff setting to "45" which is recommend humidity and on the lowest fan it works great. And the filter rarely needs to be cleaned. I have used quite a few humidifiers in my days and this one tops them all. You can't go wrong.

Why don't you work right?? Jan 22, 2011
By DCDAWG Bought this unit for use in my large bedroom. Brand new humidifier continued to read that the filter status was in the red after following all directions, including running it on high for 1 hour. Called the 1800 number and received the same directions with no resolution. Also humidistat never seemed to change even after running unit with doors closed for hours. Difficult to see water level & water leaks out if you move unit after putting in full tank. Liked the appearance and it was pretty quiet, but gets an F on function.

Huge! And hard to tell when the water is running low. Sep 12, 2010
By Darin Fan Works ok no complaints about that. But: 1-It's giant. It can dominate a small room. 2-There is no indicator/dial/LED to report water level. And the water tank is black so the water level isn't visible. So you have to keep checking it manually to determine water level. Big drawback.
I need another humidifier for another room and I'll find a different one.

Wick crumbles. Hard to find replacement Dec 18, 2011
By Joanna Bell We had two of these machines for one year and the permanent wick in one became temporary as it crumbled. I've tried to contact customer service through their web site and had trouble with the submit button. I put the number of the replacement wick in the discussion and had to take it out as it did not accept numbers. This should be fixed!!!
The unit has worked well and maintained a 50% humidity range in the downstairs. We have a second in a bedroom and that's doing well also. However, we will order 4 replacements once we find them. Securing replacements should be easier.
