Unacceptable Motor Vibration Sep 30, 2010
By K. Larson This would be a good product design-wise, but the motor is not well balanced and you can hear the vibration throughout the house.

Shoddy product Aug 31, 2010
By Bill W. This item came with a 6-blade unreinforced fan blade stamped out of very thin aluminum. The box arrived with no obvious damage. In attic, fan made a lot of buzz and noise which gradually worsened to intolerable level through house structure over 3 weeks. Finally removed fan and ran it on workbench and it was obvious that fan blades had developed substantial wobble since installed in attic. Fan blade was not loose on motor shaft. Trued up fan blades and reduced vibration, but motor had internal rattle. Examined interior and found armature was making slight contact with field windings. Called the company and they promptly sent new motor. Installed new motor and it had same problem. Overall impression is that this is cheap product with blade assembly made of such lightweight materials as to be not durable or reliable. This is sad, since previous comparable product from same manucfacturer ran fine for 9 years, but seemed to have a fan blade assembly made from heaavier gauge materials. I will not buy another of these units.

Noisy and .... Aug 10, 2010
By Odysseus Rex I installed this fan in the attic according to the instructions. I can hear in the room below and feel the spinning resonate in the adjacent rooms. It is well stabilized with 2x4's. I can't speak to it's effectiveness because after a few hours of the humming, I had to shut it off.

attic fan Dec 05, 2009
By Bruce R. Harrington Helps lower the temp in a hot attic. Set the temp which you want it to turn on. It is then automatic. That has to be a good thing. Good price too.
